However, the intention was not to reduce Dom Kulture exclusively to rock and roll. DJ, disco and funky evenings are also planned. The name of the club will be additionally "justified" by organizing various cultural events such as theatre plays, cabarets, stand-up comedies and quizzes, as well as by marking important dates. Finally, one should not forget the guests who will stop by during the day and spend pleasant time having a cup of coffee and a delicious meal while listening to good music from the sound system.
Multifunctional sound and lighting system
In order for this tucked-away space in the city center to meet the requirements of different types of live performances, as well as provide pleasant stay for guests during the day, it was necessary to design and install a multifunctional sound and lighting system which is always a challenge. Namely, it is not the same to provide even sound coverage in the daily, restaurant-like atmosphere with constant SPL and to enable quality live concert performances, due to which it was necessary to design the sound system into several proper delay lines.
The challenge of designing such a system was even greater due to the fact that Dom kulture is an acoustically challenging space of 300m2, with low ceiling and massive pillars arranged in several rows.
The projected audio system consists of RCF TT 45-CXA monitors functioning as main satellites, RCF TTS-15 subwoofers, RCF NX12-SMA and RCF TT 25-CXA stage monitors, and RCF ART708-MK4 loudspeakers that cover the rest of the space. The system also includes DiGiCo S21 mixer, Audix vocal microphones OM5 and OM6 on K&M microphone stands, Audix DP7 drum microphone set, as well as Radial ProDI and ProD2 DI boxes.
As there is no good club gig without good light effects, it was necessary to design and install appropriate lighting system. Thus, Ayrton Magicpanel-R as effect and counter light, Chauvet Intimidator 255 as effect and side light, Chauvet T12 USB LED LED spot lights as headlights and Chauvet Data Stream 4 splitter for connecting the system all found their places in Dom kulture. The system control is performed by MA Lighting dot2 software.
After less than 4 months, Dom kulture has imposed itself on the audience of Novi Sad as a place where phenomenal music is played, and which has already hosted numerous well-known musicians. We are sure that with a well-designed business concept and an adequate infrastructure to support it, it’s no sweat for this place to remain popular for many more years to come.
