Audio-visual presentation system for the amphitheater in DDOR Novi Sad

DDOR Novi Sad is an insurance company whose business is based on the sale of life and non-life insurance.

  • Client: DDOR Novi Sad
  • Date of project: 2021

The company’s beginnings date back to 1945 and the end of the Second World War, when the National Insurance and Reinsurance Bureau was founded. It has been operating under its current name since June 1990, and at the end of 2012 it became part of the Gruppo Assicurativo Unipol group.

Wanting to provide the best possible conditions for seminars and presentations in the recently renovated amphitheater, the management of the company contacted us with a request to design and install an adequate audio-visual presentation system.

The contractor on this project, the company HBT Engineering, hired us to equip the amphitheater with audio-visual equipment that would meet the highest standards of sound and image quality.

About the audiovisual system

As part of the audiovisual system, Sony VPL-FHZ91 laser projector was installed. It features 3LCD technology and WUXGA resolution, has a high light output (9000 lm) and displays a picture of 400x250 cm on a motorized screen. The contrast is ∞:1, which allows for an extremely sharp and clearly displayed image. Thanks to the provided motorized lens, the image can be displayed from different distances, where the lighting is high enough for it to be visible even with a stronger ambient light in the amphitheater.

The central part in the distribution of audiovisual signal is played by Aten VP1421 4K presentation switch with the option of scaling the image to the required resolution and a built-in DSP audio matrix with various HDMI, HDBaseT and VGA connections. Switching between different inputs is done via a wall control with 4 push buttons, which greatly simplifies the user experience.

Distribution of audio and video signals via network cable is done by Aten VE801 HDBaseT devices that transmit HDMI signal 4K resolution at a distance of 40 m without compromising the quality of the transmitted signal.

Sony FW-75BZ35F 75" professional display was also installed. It features a 24/7 mode with no degradation in image quality even after several years of use, while the brightness of 620 cd/m² is enough to neutralize the ambient light in the amphitheater. With Sony HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology, a crystal clear image is provided with outstanding color reproduction and high contrast. They also feature automatic calibration of lighting depending on the intensity of ambient light. The display allows for portrait (vertical) mode, and there is also the option to easily play content via the built-in USB media player, without the need to use additional hardware and software.

The system also includes a PTZ camera Lumens VC-B30U, with HD resolution and the possibility of zooming up to 12 times, designed to allow the speaker the visual contact with the audience whether it is a training or a remote meeting. Camera control is performed via a USB 3.1 cable Aten UE3315 connected to a computer or remote control with stored speaker position presets.

The audio system includes an Audix AP41 OM2 wireless microphone system with a hand-held transmitter for the lecturer, while the sound is distributed via an RCF DPS 604X Class D amplifier.

RCF’s MQ 50C two-way system ceiling speakers with a power of 60W were also installed providing even sound coverage of the area and intelligibility, which is a “key” thing for a quality presentation.

After the installation was completed, our team set up and put the system into operation.
