In order to digitalize the cinema hall and thus improve the quality of film projections, the Cultural Center of Ruma decided to use the funds received from the Film Center of Serbia and the Municipality of Ruma to purchase the latest generation cinema projector and 3D system.
Christie CP2309-RGB digital projector has been implemented, featuring an RGB light source, 8,500 DCI lumens of brightness and DLP technology. The projector's resolution is 2K (2048x1080 pixels), while the contrast ratio is 2000: 1. It has a built-in media server and a disk capacity of 8TB in a RAID5 configuration with a corresponding motorized zoom lens, obtained from the calculation of the lens and lighting for 2D, or the corresponding 3D projection, for the given parameters of the projection distance, the type of screen and the dimensions of the projected image. Thus, the client would be sure that the offered product meets the DCI standard.
The RGB laser light source enables realistic reproduction of colors on the screen (> 95% of the real-life image) according to the REC.2020 standard. Due to the existence of three laser sources, R, G and B, the lifespan of the projector is significantly longer compared to an ordinary laser-phosphor cinema projector, which with higher contrast makes the cinematic experience during the screening incredible. The projector has a touch monitor that with a built-in automation controller allows simple playback, scheduling and management of cinema content. It also supports HFR 2K@120fps/4K @ 30 fps.
In addition to 3D connectors for synchronizing the display of 3D content, it also has two HDMI connectors, which are used to display presentation material or movies from a computer, because the projection hall is multifunctional, so it will be used both for cinema and for other performing activities, such as presentations and theater plays.
A motorized passive 3D system with 500 glasses for children and adults is also provided, fully automated to move the polarizing modulator from the projector by selecting a 2D/3D projection type. The entire 3D system is mounted on a projector stand with wheels that has the ability to adjust the height with safety feet for its reception, and which also represents a 19" rack for accessories, i.e. NAS, UPS, audio processor and amplifiers.
After the installation was completed and the system was put into operation, our expert team trained two people from the technical service in charge of equipment management.
