In light of this, the facility has recently decided to install a state-of-the-art evacuation sound system, which will also be integrated with the ambient sound system.
Research has demonstrated that timely responses are key to the quickest possible evacuation in emergency situations. It has been found that 13% of people react to sirens, 45% to text messages, and 75% to voice messages.
By integrating the general sound system of the zone-based facility with the evacuation sound system, security announcements for visitors and employees can be automatically played as needed.
Following a successful public procurement process, our company was entrusted with supplying the ambient and evacuation sound system compliant with the EN54 standard. The required EN54 standards for various components of the evacuation sound system include:
- EN54-4 for power supply equipment,
- EN54-16 for audible alarm control and indicating equipment, and
- EN54-24 for speakers.
All supplied equipment meets the required standards and possesses appropriate certificates in accordance with EU norms.
The central part of the system is the RCF MX 3250/6 amplifier-processor unit, featuring six output zones with suitable batteries and a maximum power per zone of 250 W.
The RCF MX 3250/6 unit includes a built-in USB/SD media player for playing pre-recorded messages. RCF PLP 50EN and DU 60EN ceiling speakers were also provided, while the RCF MS 1033 CD/USB/MP3 FM tuner player is designated for ambient music.
Sommer Cable MERIDIAN SP225E30, adhering to the E30 fireproof standard, is utilized for connecting speakers in redundancy (A/B wiring).
Thanks to the supplied equipment, the Gallery of Matica Srpska has achieved high-quality ambient sound reproduction and an adequate response during emergency situations in compliance with EU security standards. The integration of these two systems has ensured both exceptional sound quality and intelligibility, facilitated by EN54 speakers, as well as significant financial savings.
