AV System for the Concert Hall of the Student Cultural Center Novi Sad

Established in 1993, the Student Cultural Center Novi Sad actively supports diverse cultural and artistic events. Recently, the center moved to a new 3,500 m² building, which includes a versatile concert hall, an exhibition gallery, and spaces for student organizations.

  • Client: The Student Cultural Center Novi Sad
  • Date of project: 2024

Following successful participation in a public procurement, AVL Projekt and Sky Music, as a consortium, equipped the Student Cultural Center with advanced audio, lighting, video and stage-mechanical systems.

For the new concert hall - capable of seating 200 guests or accommodating 450 standing - it was essential to provide top-quality, safe and reliable stage equipment.

An aluminum square truss structure was delivered to securely mount the stage equipment, comprising three rear backdrop structures, front lighting trusses and a central square structure suspended above the audience for optimal positioning and flexibility. EXE Rise 250kg D8+ electric hoists were installed to raise motorized drapes, featuring an 8:1 safety factor, FEM class 2, dual brake system, and low noise level (68 dB). A main control unit and remote-control panel enhance operational visibility, and pantographs simplify cable management.

The lighting system now boasts nearly 100 Chauvet and Spotlight LED fixtures, including wash, spot, strobe, blinder, bar, par, PC and profile lights. All lighting is controlled via the industry-standard MA Lighting grandMA3 Command Wing XT.

To enrich the visual setup, the concert hall features a URM III Unilumin LED screen with a 3.9 mm pixel pitch.

For sound, the audio system includes high-end DiGiCo S31 mixing console with 56 input channels and 24 aux channels, paired with a D2 rack on stage. The d&b audiotechnik speakers serve as the main sound system, positioned left and right of the stage with additional delay lines, front-fill units, and subwoofers. Dedicated monitor speakers support demanding live performances.

The microphone setup includes premium DPA vocal and instrumental models (DPA 2028, 4011C, and 4099), along with a wireless microphone system featuring 10 independent channels.

Stage drapery, including a motorized front curtain, rear curtain, and side pocket curtains, meets strict fire-resistance standards.

Following installation, our expert team provided comprehensive training to the center's technical staff to ensure optimal operation and maintenance of the AV systems.
