St. Simeon the Myrrh-Giving Church in New Belgrade, renowned not only for its beauty but also as a spiritual center for the community, faced challenges with sound reinforcement due to a growing congregation. A high-quality audio system was essential to preserve the dignity of the liturgy and ensure clear intelligibility throughout the services.
In order to meet these requirements, the church decided to invest in an advanced sound system featuring top-tier components from renowned brands such as Renkus-Heinz, RCF, DPA Microphones, Audix, and Symetrix.
Key components of the sound system
The sound system consists of several key components that ensure exceptional clarity and audio quality in various conditions. The main sound reinforcement is provided by ultra-compact column loudspeakers RENKUS-HEINZ DC12/2, optimized for large spaces and even sound distribution, as well as three-way wall-mounted speakers RCF MQ 100L, offering wide coverage of 180°x60°, 80W RMS power, and 70–100V operation.
The system also includes the Audix AP62 BP wireless microphone set with Audix L5 lavalier microphones, which ensure clear and stable signal transmission. Thanks to the ADS48 antenna combiner and ATNDA4161 antennas, any potential interference within the space is eliminated.
Particular attention was paid to the components dedicated to the choir and the altar. For this purpose, DPA 4097 CORE shotgun microphones with a supercardioid pattern are used, providing precise and natural vocal reproduction to ensure outstanding clarity during liturgical performances.
System Optimization and Control
For precise sound control, a Symetrix PRISM 16X16 DSP processor has been implemented, allowing wireless management via the Symetrix ARC-2e wall controller. The system is also equipped with a 4-channel amplifier, enabling detailed adjustment and optimization of sound for every corner of the church space.
The control panel with delayed on/off automation enables the clergy to easily operate the entire system. It reduces the need for manual adjustments, making the management of the sound system both safe and efficient.
Outdoor Sound: Clear Audio Beyond the Church Walls
The outdoor sound setup features the RCF CS 6520EN column speaker, engineered to deliver crystal-clear audio across expansive areas. It provides even sound coverage, ensuring that services can be fully experienced even beyond the church walls. With an IP66 rating, the speaker is built to withstand harsh weather conditions, from rain and snow to intense sunlight.
Results – Flawless Sound Experience
The upgraded audio system has transformed the worship experience, ensuring crystal-clear sound both inside and beyond the church walls. Worshippers can now immerse themselves fully in prayer and spiritual contemplation.
